Flat products

ArcelorMittal flat rolled steel is everywhere you live: in cars, appliances, buildings and countless other applications.

ArcelorMittal’s operations produce a portfolio of flat steel products and solutions for use in the appliance, automotive, construction, energy, heavy equipment, pipe and tube and transportation markets.

Our flat products

Hot rolled

All flat rolled coil steel is initially hot rolled by passing a slab through a multi-stand hot rolling mill to produce a wide variety of thicknesses.

Cold rolled

Cold-rolled sheet steel is produced in a variety of qualities, surface finishes, strength levels and chemistries.

Galvanized

Galvanized steel is a two-sided, zinc-coated product produced through a continuous process comprised of cleaning, annealing and coating. Galvannealed has a zinc coating that is heat treated and transformed to an iron/zinc alloy that offers superior painting and weldability.

Galvalume

ArcelorMittal Dofasco is licensed producer of Galvalume and Galvalume Plus (zinc & aluminum) coated steel products in Canada. Galvalume is produced through the hot-dip process and available in variety of qualities and coating weights.

Aluminized

Aluminized (AL) steel is coated with an aluminum-silicon alloy that gives an appearance similar to aluminum sheet.

Tin plate products

In North America, over 32 billion steel cans are manufactured and shipped to the consumer packaging sector every year.

Steel, or "tin" cans (named because of their micro-thin coating of tin, which prevents corrosion) comprise over 90% of the food can market.

The metal food can is the most efficient, economical and nutritional means possible to deliver food products to your table (or Fido's bowl) and are completely recyclable.

ArcelorMittal Dofasco has become an industry leader by supplying our tin plate products to the food can industry. We provide products for the full range of 3-piece welded can applications and 2-piece cans including drawn and ironed and draw-redraw. And you know those tin free steel ends on the frozen juice containers? We make the steel for that too.

At our tin mill, we make enough product for three TRILLION soup-sized cans every year!

Structural Steel- Indaten®

Indaten®, widely known as corten steel or weathering steel, is a structural steel with excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, thanks to the development of a protective and adhesive patina evolving with time and environment.

Amstrong® Advanced high strength steels

ArcelorMittal constantly seeks to optimally meet – if not surpass – market expectations.

Amstrong® and Amstrong® Ultra high-strength steels are available as thermomechanically hot rolled, cold formable grades. Their main properties include high yield strength and tensile strength, combined with excellent formability, toughness at low temperatures and fatigue resistance.

These grades are therefore an excellent choice for reducing structural thickness and weight while

improving load-bearing capacity, thereby generating cost savings and securing market advantage.
